Summer is the perfect time to experience the three lakes in the area and Branson's outdoor water park, White Water. Water enthusiasts will also find a wide arrray of recreational activities at the lakes such as kayaking, parasailing and boating.

Branson is centrally located in the Lakes area ( Table Rock, Bull Shoals, Taneycomo) and serves as a great home base for many different day trips. Springfield is less than an hour from your rental cabin and is home to the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. The national headquarters for Bass Pro Shops is located in Springfield. Located adjacent to Bass Pro Shops is the Wonders of Wildlife Museum & Aquarium. You can also visit these other notable sites: Discovery Center of Springfield, Fantastic Caverns, Wilson's Creek National Battlefield, Dickerson Park Zoo, Wild Animal Safari, and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Home and Museum near Mansfield.
A 30-minute drive west of your
rental cabin is the historic James River where the locals invented the "jon" boat. The Buffalo River National Park is less than hour south of your rental cabin. The Buffalo River is considered to be one of our nation's last significant naturally-flowing rivers in regards to its size, wild qualities, Karst formations and associated natural, scenic and historic resources. The Park offers hiking, hunting, fishing and canoeing and has designated trails and wilderness areas. Horseback riding is also permitted in small groups.
Southwest 50 miles from your rental cabin is Eureka Springs Arkansas, the only town in America where the entire downtown is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Eureka Springs has 63 springs within the city limits and more than 100 springs just outside the city. Originally founded because of the belief in the healing powers of the springs, it remains a charming Victorian village with more than 230 streets that wind around the hills leading to art galleries, gourmet restaurants, wedding chapels, public parks and numerous specialty shops.
Like to shop for antiques? Forty minutes north of your rental cabin is Ozark, Missouri. Here it will take you an entire day (if you wish) to go through all the Antique Malls which are at the intersection of Hwy 65 & 14.
Dogwood Canyon Nature Park is 30 minutes from your rental cabin. It combines the natural beauty of the Ozark Mountains with easy, comfortable access ot everything the canyon has to offer. Take a wildlife tram tour and journey through the canyon floor, past towering bluffs and waterfalls all the while mingling with herds of American bison, elk, white tail deer, and Texas longhorn. Fish the sparkling spring-fed waters that drew the Osage so long ago. There is also Hiking, Biking & Horseback Riding.
Silver Dollar City is about 10 miles west of Branson and your rental cabin. It is a multi-million dollar entertainment complex reminiscent of an 1880's Ozark village with thrill rides and attractions, shows, dining facilities, dozens of musicians and an evening music show with a professional cast. In 1998, Silver Dollar City was given the Applause Award by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions as the top theme park in the world.
